Johanna first carried a baby girl for a couple in Argentina, and later on, carried twins for an American couple from Texas. Her two daughters were very young, and she was a stay-at-home mom. She saw her husband working two jobs and felt like she needed to contribute to the household expenses, so she became a Surrogate. Her initial motivation was monetary but once she had completed her first journey, she wanted to do it again. This is why:
“Veronica and I spoke via Skype once a week and became very good friends. She came to Miami for my 20 week ultrasound. When I saw her face after the ultrasound technician told us it was going to be a girl, I understood how profound my actions were. I know the joy a mother feels when she hears her baby’s first laugh, when she sees her baby’s first steps, or the difficulty of dropping off her child on the first day of school. I never stopped to think about the many women who cannot experience these simple moments in life. With Surrogacy, I can bring this joy to another woman and make somebody’s life better. This makes me feel very good. I knew right then that I wanted to help another family, as soon as the doctor would allow it.”
Another woman with a heart of gold, who carried babies for a Bundles of Joy, LLC, couple was Victoria. Victoria had always dreamt of starting a business. She wanted to open a daycare. She had applied for all the licenses and had it all planned, but she was never able to gather the capital to make it a reality.
She came across our advertisement and inquired about being a Surrogate. When we finished our explanation of the procedures, she said, “I can do that.” She was matched with an International couple who traveled to the United States often. After Victoria met them, she felt she was more ready now than she was before. Talking to them, she understood how much they wanted that baby. The wife told Victoria about all the failed treatments she had endured. For some unknown reason, the wife kept miscarrying between the 5th and 6th month of pregnancy. She could see the pain in this woman’s eyes. The two women had just met, and they cried together. Victoria promised her she would do everything in her power to give birth to a baby she could call her own.
A big surprise came to them all when the first blood test showed a very high hormonal level. Weeks later, the ultrasound confirmed twins. This couple’s joy in the delivery room was overwhelming. The entire staff in the delivery room shared their wonderful experience. And Victoria thanked us profusely for allowing her to participate in such a magical moment.
“Thank you, Sara, and Bundles of Joy for giving me one of the most unforgettable experiences in my life. I never expected to enjoy this journey as much as I did. Juliana and Fred were so supportive to me and my family. One of my concerns was how I would explain it to my children. Would my 5 year old be concerned that maybe I would give him away as well? He shared with me on my journey and most importantly, he learned from my actions that when we share our good fortune with others, we make this a better world. “
